We are delighted to be able to offer the new and latest brilliant design from Atera.
This is a rack that surpasses all others of the Towbar type. Incredibly easy to use - one of the lightest, if not the lightest rack on the market. This is achieved by careful use of Aluminium, only employing steel in the areas that require it .
Fits all types of Tow Ball - Swan Neck fixed and demountable types along with the Traditional UK 2 Bolt type.
10 seconds - fast installation to towbar. 14.4 kg only which is extremely lightweight for this type of rack. Compact new design - 1 metre wide to fit inside vehicle if required - . Hardly any effort required to tilt the rack - by using an innovative pull out mechanism giving unbeatable loading clearance .

Normal position shown when the rack is fitted to the towbar and in use --
and below,
the rack slides back on the frame giving much more clearance to access the rear Boot/Hatch than conventional tilting racks. The big bonus of this design means that youy do not need to partially release the clamp on the ball but the clamp remains tight around it, as it does not hinge from this position (by rotating around the Ball itself) like a good number of other popular racks do now and used to.

Rack has been rolled back on the rails and is now fully tilted giving much more clearance to access the luggage space than other racks. This is a truly excellent feature which when added to the many other superbe design achievments it leaves us in no doubt as to which rack we currently give top marks and is deserving of a market leader position.

Closer view of the clamping handle and lock. This area has now been upgraded, with the handle now being Aluminium and the lock situated near the release catch.
In order to install, when standing behind the rack the procedure is to offer the unlocked rack up to the tow ball then push the looped bar away from you, this encloses the towball and the rack is held up and will not drop down, next the user operates the latch (red L shaped - now a plastic button which is more comfortable on the fingers) and pulls the looped bar back away from the bar and down until another latch engages, this is the position shown. The key can then be turned locking the rack onto the towball. Install the lighting plug into the socket and the job is done !!

The fourth rail has been fitted on this rack and as normal sits above the lights. This is a complete rail which is ideal for smaller bikes of very short wheel base.
The third rail is also a complete rail when there is no extra bike adapter fitted, again this is ideal for a small junior bike right up to the largest adult bikes.

The sturdy Fibre glass reinforced plastic wheel wedges combined with quick fastening straps can be positioned very easily on the anodised aluminum rail and are secured in position with a butterfly headed bolt that tightens into a special nut retained in the T-Track. This makes the loaded bikes extremely stable in transit particularly on account of the steeply sloping wedges that are placed firmly between the front and rear wheels of each bicycle.

-- And just in case you are wondering how you slide tilt the rack, and whether it’s likely to self activate when you perform a 0 - 60 in six seconds. You will be pleased to learn that Atera have thought this through thoroughly, and encorporate in the design a preliminary catch situated in an unobtrusive yet convenient and accessible position. Two fingers are used to push down on the catch behind the number plate, which in turn allows you to push down on the aluminium bar situated beneath the number plate - the rack then glides backwards and downwards easily. The reverse movement is very easy, as you just push the bikes and rack forward until a satisfying clunk is heard as the catches engage.
