Atera have been in the car rack systems market since 1963, making roof bars and accessories under the Atera brand as well as for the original equipment market - customers include Audi, BMW, Daewoo, Chrysler, Fiat, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Subaru, Suzuki, Vauxhall, and Volkswagen. With a commitment to quality as an ISO 9001 company they aim for everything they produce to be technically excellent, solidly built, beautifully engineered and largely pre-assembled. Most of their products are TUV inspected and given the GS safety test seal of approval.

The LINEA is a rear mounting carrier of the highest quality. As the adapters are specifically designed for a perfect fit to each vehicle, there is a specific application list - shown at the bottom of the page.
Some of the complete four bike systems utilise stainless steel in the frame, but otherwise the LINEA is essentially an all aluminium construction. The three bike system weighs only 8.5 kg, approximately half the weight of competitor products. It is a pleasure to fit and use.
The system consists of a basic unit - saloons and convertibles use a different version to estates and hatchbacks - and an adapter kit. Where appropriate you add the 3rd and 4th bike kits. Hook the carrier over the top of the tailgate or boot lid and then use the tensioning key to draw the unit tight and effectively lock it in place.
Max weights are given as 45Kg on three bike versions, and 60Kg on four bike racks which use stainless steel bars for strength, and aluminium rails and arms to support the bikes.

- · Each bike carrier has two quick release wheel straps attached to the large wheel blocks for extra security
- · The bikes are held upright by universal cuffs, capable of fastening up to 80mm frame tubes, or down to the smallest diameter seatpost, these grab the cross bar or seat post; each clamp incorporates a lock although, being aluminium, (the plastic band on the cuff does have a flexible metal insert sandwiched between the layers) we'd recommend the use of a cable lock if you are particularly concerned about security
- · The bike platform should be folded upwards when not in use
- · There are rubber feet on the bottom of each LINEA to prevent damage when it's being stood up against a wall when not in use
